Hey Anthias, got your message.

Just wanted to let you know that im not 'gone' and i didnt forget vprespect. Im just extremely busy with real-life stuff right now, which is why i have very little time for forums in general. Once everything turns back to 'normal' i will have more time again. I hope this will be soon.

See you around,
Phoenixx

Hey I really like the "<user> we miss you" email feature!!!

Makes me feel really wanted!

re: the smileys. I like them but that grey border just has to go.... I presume it's antialiasing for a white background.

Been really sick the last week with the flu. Felt like there was a little man behind my eyeballs pushing at them with velcro, so couldn't watch TV or a monitor screen at all.

Anyways, thanks for the e-mail.

the org has slightly less than 1% of the registered members that vpforums.com had.

it has currently just on 3000. .com had well over 300,000. Mind you, 3000 is ok for a site of the org's age. but its interesting to note that it has failed to attract 99% of vpforums.com's membership, active or not. maybe this shows how many were inactive, bots or leechers. or maybe it shows a few were unhappy with the situation.

in comparison, pn has 4881 (since no registration is needed to download there, this is a great number)
fp forums has 12673 (also great since it doesn't directly provide downloads of tables - just FP itself)
po has 13863 (we culled it down to about 10,000 accounts in a site repair and cleanup a few months ago there, so growth is still similar to org)
jpgpins fourm has 119. authors personal sites usually don't pull that many, so this is still good.

some of the memberships will be leechers and bots, but all the sites have been experiencing membership growth. Only a handful stop to say hi, but those handful keep the community alive.

that said, all the sites have their ups and downs. PN has had greater activity in recent months, po pulls a few people from fp for downloads etc but not muchg posting these days. It all fluctuates.

but without any real advertising of its existance, I think VPRespect is doing ok! lol.

this site will still serve a purpose, and its not one that attracts the numbers yet, but given time, this should build into a place with some good discussions of all the stuff we are concerned with in the pinball simulation world!.

Thanks meecro for the congrats ;)

This will probably change once i add the URL to the VIP. I didnt add it to the last update because i hadnt done anything here yet, (im thinking of a subforum for VIP related questions and general after-installation help), but once that is in place it will substitute the vpforums.com URL, which is at least at the moment pointless to have.

I already took a look at the admin panel,...lets just hope i dont mess the place up completely,...

(Theres a backup of the site, isnt there? )

Jeez 3000 already?

I can't remember but do you have to register there to download, or just to post, like nirvana? I read Noah's statement at nirvana just now and he had 'VPForge' as a candidate name. F#&king fabulous name, so I just can't figure why he didn't (and still doesn't) go with it unless Phoenixx's worst conjectures are correct.

Everyone would have found it, the other sites would have linked....would have avoided accusations of mooching off another site's reputation, and it is a great site... Shame, a real shame.....

Somehow I can't buy the assertion (after all the crapola) that the name was chosen as a mark of respect....

FP? I've given up on FP until I upgrade my mainframe....

I don't know why - perhaps it's the change of weather - but I am not currently enjoying the pinball scene. I'm pretty much had enough of the arguements/debates over who is right and wrong. So thanks for the memo Anthias, I will return in a more positive mode but for now I thinks I'll just go ahead with setting up the Ugly Smilies Sanctuary and continue with playing Goth Club which is still one of my favorites. :D

Well, looking into the various sites and 'social' traffic is low ... very low, apart from the serious building element at the other vp.org there is little socialising going on.

I personally think that most peeps are fed up with the arguements - whether merited or not - and are either leaving the scene or just looking in at a distance.

Never mind, perhaps it will rise up again.
